A fresh start to 2024 with a rebrand

January 23, 2024

In our previous newsletter, we shared that we have been working on a re-branding project that seeks to align the past, present and future of PENZ into a Brand that represents who we are and those we serve.

The journey to this re-branding has been an exciting one, fuelled by our commitment to empowering, educating, and connecting the physical education community. As we continue to grow and evolve, it’s essential that our brand represents the mauri and wairua of our organisation and the communities we work with.

Working on a re-brand has been about reflecting on:

· Our visual identity as an organisation;

· Our rich whakapapa and heritage;

· Our aspirations for the future;

· Authentic and relevant te ao Māori visuals that speak to our commitment in honouring the principles of Te Tiriti and The Treaty.

So, what’s changing?

New Tohu: We have a new tohu. Our tohu design plays a central role in our overall visual identity. It is a visual representation of a key undeylying message of our brand. Our core message is developed as a whakataukī:

Hopukina to hau, te hou, te koiri – whakatipua, whakatuarā, whakanuia, whakamaioha. Ei, ko te ao kori e. Grasp the source, the sound, the movement – expand it, champion it, celebrate it, value it. Ei, it is alive.

New Logo: Our logo has undergone a makeover. It will provide a quick reference point and continue to help our organisation to be recognisable.

New Colours: We have worn the red, black and white for a while now. As much as we feel connected to this part of our whakapapa, we are excited to bring a new energy and warmth to PENZ. This means we will be saying goodbye to the red, white and black.

Revamped Website: We are working on rebuilding our website, which will offer a more user-friendly experience, easier navigation, and a wealth of valuable resources for our community. This will go live in the early part of next year!

Enhanced Content: We are committed to providing you with even more insightful content, including articles, webinars, and resources to support your professional journey. We’ll keep you posted.

We will be sharing these changes with you all in the next week or so via email, social media and our current website.

Thanks for all your support as we get ready to launch into a new phase of mahi here at PENZ.
