#EinPE Deliberate Play
Physical Activity provides contexts for students to explore knowledge and understandings (see #EinPE K/U.E.S) and to develop skills to become competent movers. New Zealand children | tamariki in lockdown are away from school and formalised opportunities in PE to develop their motor skills, but the flip side to this is that they now have more available time than ever to explore movement in the form of play. Rather than deliberate practice, James discusses that there may be just as much value to our ākonga | students to develop their motor skills from cummulative amounts of deliberate play. Putting the #EinPE during lockdown could therefore include encouraging students to take the opportunity to use some space at home to do some serious play.
