While regular physical activity close to home is encouraged during the nationwide lockdown, not all local environments are the same. Considering the condition of the local terrain is part of understanding the socio-cultural factors that act as enablers or barriers for students’ participation in physical activity during lockdown. Taking a closer look at the Socio-cultural factors allows students to use their sociological imagination to consider the impact of the lockdown on themselves, whānaua | others in their ‘bubbles’, and society. This could include the environmental, economic, historical and political factors that impact their ability to complete a personal training programme for eg. the availability of space and equipment.
